History / Social Science Instructional Resources
The California State Board of Education adopts instructional materials for Kindergarten to Grade Eight. These materials align to the California History / Social Science Content Standards. Developed by History-Social Science practitioners, the toolkit assists local schools and districts with the instructional materials adoption process. The toolkit includes recommendations for setting up a local process, sample needs and resources inventory forms plus criteria for evaluating a program's organization, assessment components, and means of addressing the special needs of student subgroups. Web resources concerning the instructional materials adoption process are also included. The toolkit is appropriate for use K-12.
