2005 Kern County Regional Science Fair

One of the major events sponsored by the Kern County Science Foundation is the 2005 Kern County Regional Science Fair. Aera Energy LLC is the Founding and Primary Sponsor. 

Of the 2005 Winners at the Kern County Science Fair, 61 were eligible to attend the California State Science Fair.

Kern County filled its allocation at the California State Science Fair 100%.  Here are the students who earned state honors:

Lydia Bates, Grade 12, Desert High School, 3rd place in Applied Mechanics.

Aubryn Butterfield, Grade 6, North Kern Christian School, 1st place in Plant Biology.

Cordelia Holmes, Grade 12, Desert High School, 3rd place in Physics, Astronomy

Matthew Johnson, Grade 7, Murray Middle School, 2nd place in Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics

Jeorgina Lopez, Grade 9, Arvin High School, 3rd place in Plant Biology

Samantha Williams, Grade 10, Bakersfield High School, 3rd place in Mammalian Biology

Shelley Patel, John Scott, and Shivani Softa; Stockdale High School;  Earth Systems Science Award

Ali Haghighi, Warren Junior High, Honorable Mention from the Health Physics Society, Southern California Chapter
