The Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office identified a primary need to develop a countywide community collaborative effort to support arts education. The Kern County Plan began by bringing together the Kern County arts community, the educational community, and business partners to define resources and create a coherent and collaborative action plan based on a shared vision.
On April 26, 2007 a meeting was convened to form action steps committees. The action steps were focused on areas determined through the needs assessment process.
