The California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) Arts Initiative, through a generous grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, funded six subgrant projects to support the goal of providing all students with a comprehensive and standards-based arts education, kindergarten through high school.  The projects are grounded in the CCSESA Arts Initiative Visual and Performing Arts Vision and Core Principles focused on providing California students - from every culture, geographic region, and socio-economic level - quality arts learning in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts as part of the core curriculum.

Click on the title of the CCSESA Toolkit for valuable resources or visit the CCSESA website for the most current research and information in Arts Education.

Information on the funding for Visual and Performing Arts
Many questions have been raised about the proper implementation of the Arts and Music Block Grant. In order to respond to those concerns, a new “Frequently Asked Questions” has been posted on California Department of Education’s website. In addition, a template report may be accessed, which provides the report format to be used by districts in reporting on the allocation of the visual and performing arts block grant funding. You can access both by clicking here. Arts Grant FAQ
