Whiz Kids Guidelines

Whiz Kids

The annual "Whiz Kids" competition will be held at Piute Mountain School from 10:00 to 2:00 P.M. Schools should plan to arrive no later than 10:00 A.M.

Student selection will be from the seventh or below and eighth grades. There can be more seventh graders than eighth graders, making a total of six competing. You can have only three 8^th graders.

Please fax a list of your school’s Whiz Kids names and grade levels to Piute Mountain School prior to the competition.

There will be five areas of competition: Math, History, Science, Super Quiz and Essay (previously turned into the Kern County Superintendent of Schools). See the schedule for times.

A medal will be presented for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place in the Essay and History Divisions. Trophies will be awarded to school teams for the following: 1^st place for History, Math, Science and Super Quiz; 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place trophies for overall scores.

Each school is responsible for its own lunches.
